De Moto E4 en E4 Plus brengen het succes van de Moto G-lijn naar goedkopere prijspunten en zijn tactische bewegingen die bedoeld zijn om hiaten in de marktdekking van Motorola op te vullen. Beide telefoons zien er hetzelfde uit als de eerdere Moto G-lijn, en met alle huidige telefoons van Motorola in het algemeen, maar betalen veel van het specificatieblad terug om de prijs zo laag mogelijk te houden.
